Transport Depot in the Countryside

Permission secured for an 8 acre transport depot in open countryside with no objections!

This complex work needed an imaginative, considered and patient approach to pull together surveys (geotechnical, noise, ecological, tree, topographical, lighting, flood) and work with all agencies to make sure any possible objections were addressed to gain a positive outcome for our client.

 

New Industrial Units for B1 and B2 use

New Industrial Unit

Permission secured for new B1 and B2 workshop units to be constructed on built up ground requiring geotechnical evidence, wildlife reports, traffic statistics and the moderation of local resident objectors. A thoughtful approach well supported by strong planning policies secured approval.

 

Business Tourism Development

Tourism Conversion

Permission for the conversion of the four traditional redundant barns together with the Farm House and two agricultural buildings into a high quality mix of 15 tourism units in a managed environment to include serviced business space, recreation and leisure facilities and grounds. Robust use of national planning policies needed to persuade local planners. Joint project with Wright Associates.

 

Environmental Centre

Environmental Centre

Permission was granted for a change of use of an agricultural barn to an environmental education centre and for adjacent land to be used for the erection of ablutions and utility buildings, constructed of timber and straw, and provision of hard standings for seasonal Yurt accommodation. The centre will be operated to encourage young people’s understanding of the environment and the need for sustainability. Drawings and plans delivered by Hetreed Ross Architects in Bath.

 

Feasibility Study

Somerton Historic Building Preservation Trust

Delivery of a feasibility study to assess the potential for viable restoration of the Somerton Old Town Hall for community and business use.  Three phases of work included a community consultation and assessment of viable uses, coordination of a structural survey and the assessment and write up of conclusions  and recommendations (work in Progress!)
