Inward Investment for Somerset

Into Somerset is the inward investment organisation for Somerset. Funded initially by the public sector, Into Somerset brings together private and public sector partners who are passionate about promoting Somerset as a thriving business location. The Langdon Partnership was asked to lead the research which, with assistance from PFA Research and Tick Box Marketing, provided the evidence base on which Into Somerset began its work.

Somerset Food and Drink Sector Review

This report was commissioned by Somerset County Council and Somerset Rural Renaissance in order to build a better understanding of the food and drink sector in the county, identify the gaps in public sector support and develop an action plan for the organisation of public sector intervention to support growth for the sector.

The research undertook to gather evidence from six sources; Economic and business data, market trends, interviews with food and drink manufacturers, public sector organisations and project officers, benchmarking of two other regions and regional and sub-regional strategies.

Somerton Historic Buildings Feasibility Study (Ongoing)

Somerton Historic Buildings Preservation Trust (SHBPT) was set up to preserve buildings of historic value for the benefit of the community.

This feasibility study was required to consult with the community, to establish the real value of demand and combine these conclusions with an assessment of a structural survey of a specific building to allow recommendations to be made regarding the viability of a project to renovate and preserve a historic building for community and business benefit.
