Project Management

Having been learning for 25 years whilst advising and training small and medium businesses, working as a bank manager (Business) and in economic regeneration with local authorities there is a wealth of experience to draw on. Latterly this has  been focused on delivering projects in commercial property and economic regeneration – where there are both  public and private sector objectives.

“Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances”  (Sun Tzu c. 490 BC, Chinese military strategist)

Business Engagement

Hinkley Point C Supply Chain. With the proposed investment of £10 billion in a new nuclear power station there was an obvious need to gather intelligence about the skills sets available in the local supply chain, coordinate the communication of key information to that supply chain and develop relationships with main contractors in order to maximise engagement with Somerset businesses. The project is ongoing but by embedding ourselves with the  Somerset Chamber of Commerce we have been able to develop a win support for a supply chain solution from EDF Energy and are now busy delivering what we said we would.

Into Somerset is the inward investment team for Somerset. We were fortunate to not only win the tender to deliver the market research that was the evidence base for the project but to also become a member of the delivery team – following through on our recommendations. Our role has been to focus on special projects in key sectors (advanced engineering and  nuclear) and to generate leads for the inward investment team to manage.

“This feeling, finally, that we may change things – this is at the centre of everything we are. Lose that… lose everything.”  (Sir David Hare 1947-, British playwright and author of many satires)
